An update on the Chicago Community, Media & Research Partnership

Back in October, we announced a partnership with the Alliance for Research in Chicagoland Communities at Northwestern. Over the past six months we’ve come together with a group of community and ethnic media partners, patient and community partners, and PCORI-funded health researchers to forge relationships, and to explore a big question: How can we make health research more accessible and impactful to Chicago’s under-resourced communities, and what is the role of trusted community and ethnic media in that process? In that time, we’ve deepened our understanding of each other and our communities, and discovered common ground between journalists, community partners and researchers. Here are a few highlights from the conversations we’ve had so far.
